The archaeological site of Train Locomotive Factory in Qadam south of Damascus in Syria.
Plant dates back to the Ottoman Empire in Syria, where the Germans built it after the Ottoman Government request to feed the railway locomotives Hijazi with the latest techniques in a timely manner.
It defined the height of production in 1907.
During the French occupation of Syria it was used by French forces as a location for the reform and presence of tanks and aircraft engines, the French army "Army of the east" and then worked for the Syrian army in the early days of his term to take advantage of even obsolete equipment.
At a time of the United Arab Republic it has been shut down completely without any use of equipment, while a small part of it is used today for the manufacture of Damascene cars plates.
This plant is fully dormant since the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and its minatory actually in danger of elimination today with the alleged new line Hijazi project.
